I am a retired Senior Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department, Criminal Division. During my tenure I was a national Defensive Tactics Coordinator.
I developed, wrote and implemented the Defensive Tactics program for Special Agents and trained over 200 instructor trainers at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia.
The training program became mandatory for all agents in the department and in currently being taught to new recruits and field agents. The training is all based on Miyama Ryu techniques and tactics.

At present I am stationed in Iraq and teaching US Soldiers Miyama Ryu Combat Jujutsu everyday.
Because these concepts were originally born and tested in war, it was a seamless transition for what US forces need for close quarter protection while conducting the cordon and knock missions that they do everyday.
Miyama Ryu is once again being tested in war and has already saved one soldiers life! Through the invaluable concepts of Miyama Ryu Combat Jujutsu many more soldiers will be returning home after completing this mission including yours truly.

In my 20 years of leading a fugitive squad for a probation department, the techniques of Miyama Ryu taught to me directly by Shinan Pereira, have kept me safe and out of harm.
There are no more effective techniques for the apprehension of fugitives.

The Miyama Ryu police tactics are an official part of the training curriculum of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and hundreds of officers have been trained in them.
Many officers have reported to me the effectiveness of the techniques against actual assailants.
